Outstanding interview bro! Thank you. I like the way you ask a question to the doctor, then sit back and listen and allow him to speak without interruption. I find it fascinating how food really is medicine, you can take the good medicine (Whole Foods plant based) or the bad medicine (meat, butter, eggs etc).
This was a fantastic interview, with many cute quips to bookend the concrete facts and suggestions. Junior Ornish! I am now picturing Dr. Dean wearing one of those beanies with propeller tops, and it's making me chuckle, which is oxygenating my vascular tissues, I bet ; ) TFP!!!
Enjoy some alcohol just be aware:
“World Health Organization says drinking alcohol is a well-established risk factor for a range of cancers...”
Same warning for breast cancer.
Not being anti alcohol (or fun). My hubby and I don’t drink at all for diff separate reasons but don’t miss it.
Finally a doctor literally saving lives with his knowledge and simple common sense approach.I went to doctor and had complete physical 12/27/17 im 54 and lift free weights 5 days a week for years and eat pretty good.(labs all good)One month ago i had a heart attack at gym and was lucky enough to have CPR and defibrillator(3 shocks) . Triple bypass march !st. no meat .no dairy,no oil no problem so far i like it.I asked my doctor during my physical for an ldl particle test and he didn't give me one when they drew blood(?)Please everyone get test for your heart!!! if god left me here just to say that so be it.I had zero symptoms prior to this life changing event !!!.
Look up Peter C. Gøtzsche physician, medical researcher, leader Nordic Cochrane Center Rigshospitalet,Copenhagen, Denmark for must hear/read views on mammography. Incredible videos with extensively cited studies etc.
Of course diet isn't everything. But deficiencies are not a vegan thing. They exist in all diets. People are responsible for making sure they get proper nutrition no matter how they choose to eat. Vegans are not immune to disease and death. I am under no illusion here. That being said, a well planned vegan diet can be wonderfully health promoting and help reduce or eliminate serious health issues.
And hey..my calcium score was 100....with the blockage in my main wudowmaker LAD artery...and as Dr Kahn says..thats not a good score....and i certainly was vital slim fit etc.....getting this info 1 year in to being plant based, this info motivated me even more
Just wanted to say take care assuming youre "Internally healthy"....if you ate a western diet in your 20s and 30s chances are you already have an artery blockage of some significance....my husband and i had a cardiac ct angiogram put of curiosity and sure enough we had blockages between 25-49%....after getting that news i would never eat avocado and nuts anymore...rang and checked with dr esselstyn who agreed...his words were at least half of any city would have blickages like that.....i would really suggest that procefure to find out the exact extent of damage
@KoalaMama 2.0 that sounds like my ordeals at work with people who can't remember I'm celiac and keep inviting me to the conference room for leftover sandwiches and cake every time there's a meeting. I mean...I get it when people who rarely interact with me forget, but...my boss? C'mon. Eventually you just gotta smile, nod, say thanks, and go right back to what you were doing.
I tried to explain this to my kids' karate teacher... It's a poison! I told him I'm a fruitarian so it wouldn't benefit me personally, and it went right over his head and he said, "Just a half a glass of wine a night is very good for your health..." 🙇😏
Oh wow such interesting info for even women - for all of us!
WOW! My BP is great! And this is what I do to rinse my mouth when brushign my teeth. I am with Melaleuca Health and Wellness and they have the Pure Essential Oils. In my tooth brushing rinse water cup I have pure water, a few drops of Mela Tea Tree oil, and a few drops of peppermint or wintergreen pure oils, I mix it and rinse - yummm fresh slean and won't do what Doc just said it would do to your eaten arrugula (forgot what he said - I will go back to listen again).
Trials have already established that the famous blue pill’s main ingredient helps those with damaged hearts by boosting blood flow.
But now a new study by the Centre for Cardiac Research at the University of Manchester has shown that cells from a failing heart actually survive for longer when they are given a Viagra-like drug which is normally used to treat impotence in men.
